About
Carla Repice is an artist and educator based in New York City. Her work explores themes of indoctrination, scapegoating, accountability and compassion.
She has presented her work widely at venues including Pioneer Works (Brooklyn, NY), Equity Gallery (New York, NY), The San Diego Museum of Art (San Diego, CA) deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum (Lincoln, MA), Tough Gallery (Chicago, Il); Coop Gallery (Nashville,TN), and The New York Historical Society (New York, NY).
Repice earned her MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her BFA from The School of Visual Arts. She continues to study with her mentors, Rose Shakinovksy and Claire Gavronsky (rosenclaire), in both Italy and South Africa.
She was born in Hoboken, NJ, to parents who migrated from southern Italy post-World War II. With over 20 years of experience in education, spanning public schools, colleges and foundations, she is deeply committed to promoting access to arts education. Previously, she served as the Artistic Director at the DreamYard Art Center in the South Bronx and as the Senior Manager of Education, Engagement and Interpretation at Bard Graduate Center. Currently, she is the Education Director at the Hill Art Foundation in New York City.
